Administrative Assistant

The administrative assistant is a key member of the United Way of Western Nebraska team, is accountable for exceptional service and will provide office administration support for our team. The position involves assembling payroll, donation reports, tax forms and other documents, bank reconciliations, receiving inbound calls, mail, ordering supplies, updating spreadsheets and correspondence and other duties as assigned. The ability to remain calm, organized and focused under deadlines is essential. Seeking a team oriented, positive and outgoing professional for a Full Time Administrative Assistant role at United Way! 

Hours include Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with occasional evenings or weekends for special events

Minimum Requirements:  

  • High School Diploma or GED with Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 3+ years of office experience in an office support environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping background required
  • Experience with Excel, Word & QuickBooks
  • Works well with the public
  • Strong organizational skills and highly skilled in accuracy.
  • Desire to work in a community oriented non-profit and be an integral part of the United Way of Western Nebraska team.
  • Ability to multi-task

The perfect applicant will demonstrate enthusiasm for helping others, manage their time effectively and communicate well in writing and conversation with a wide variety of people, demonstrate ability to be part of a team and community oriented, be proficient with computers and technology and be willing to do some limited travel.
